The Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Information Technologies invites all students, enthusiasts to enroll to “RoboMac 2019”, the international competition in the field of robotics, electronics and artificial intelligence. The competition will be held for the ninth time, from 18th to 23rd of March.

Participants of the competition will have the opportunity to work in pairs, use their knowledge and skills, upgrade and improve them and the opportunity to cooperate with students from home and abroad in order to win the first place in their category. The categories in which participants can compete are:

  • Robot arm,
  • Sumo,
  • Line Follower,
  • Maze,
  • AI Football,
  • Sphero.

In addition, participants may attend lectures in their areas of interest.

This year the category RoboMac Junior will be held for the first time. High school students from all over Macedonia will take part and compete. The goal is to increase the interest in robotics and artificial intelligence among high school students. They will have the opportunity to listen to lectures by professors and experts in this field, but also to work with educational robots and compete in the programming and management of them.

The final match for all categories will be held on 23rd March 2019.

]]> No publisher Violeta 2019-02-06T15:05:00Z News Item SIXTH ANNUAL CONFERENCE "ENERGY EFFICIENCY AND SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT" - SCEESD 2018 http://en-archived.feit.ukim.edu.mk/news/sixth-annual-conference-energy-efficiency-and-sustainable-development-sceesd-2018 SCEESD 2018 lasted successful four days during which the participants had the opportunity to present their scientific papers and exchange and gain a lot of knowledge through the communication and discussions with professors and members of successful companies. Very important questions regarding energy efficiency and sustainable development were discussed and various concepts and ideas for contributing to solving these serious problems that the modern world is facing were shared. The students had the opportunity to learn from the high-quality plenary lectures on current topics given by renowned professors and members from companies, as well as a lecture from prof. Abraham Kribus from the University of Tel Aviv, Izrael.

The last day of the conference was dedicated to establishing business ideas from the student papers. The students were collaborating with mentors who helped them transform their scientific papers into innovative business models, which they later presented to a wide audience. After the student’s presentations, each was given constructive critics on how to improve their business models and make them more successful. The entire event was opened by Dijana Despodov, executive director of the American Chamber in Macedonia.

During the last day of SCEESD, the famous Mr. Yair Engel, director of the Cayama center for sustainable design in Izrael, gave a plenary lecture on the topic ‘Circular Economy as a Growth Generator’, which was an exceptionally interesting and new topic for the students participant of SCEESD 2018.

]]> No publisher Violeta 2018-07-11T08:55:00Z News Item Call for households expressing interest about participation in pilot project in the framework of the PV - ESTIA project http://en-archived.feit.ukim.edu.mk/news/call-for-households-expressing-interest-about-participation-in-pilot-project-in-the-framework-of-the-pv-estia-project The Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Information Technologies, within its scientific and research activity, participates in the project "Enhancing storage integration in buildings with Photovoltaics (PV - ESTIA)" co-financed by the Interreg VB "Balkan-Mediterranean 2014 - 2020 "and from national funds (www.pv-estia.eu).

Within the project, a pilot project is planned in which measuring the consumption of electricity in 20 households will be carried out. By the end of September 2018, a measuring device will be installed in each of the selected households, which will measure the consumption of electricity for 3 years. During this period, the household will have the opportunity to monitor its consumption on a wireless home monitor in real time or via an Internet application (from a computer, tablet and smart phone). Measured data acquired in this way will be owned by the project and will be used to form a clear representation of the habits of household electricity consumption by analyzing the corresponding consumer diagram.

We invite interested citizens/households to apply by sending an e-mail to mkacar@feit.ukim.edu.mk no later than September 1, 2018.

The applications of households that will express interest for participation in the pilot project will be subject to evaluation of the necessary technical criteria that need to be fulfilled (wireless internet connection, available space for installation of measuring equipment, etc.) according to the attached document. The selected households will sign an Agreement with the project for a period of 3 years.
