Course Goals (acquired competencies): Obtaining knowledge for selection of the most appropriate configuration and sizing of photovoltaic systems, implementation of protection devices and measures, component setting. Capability for participation in in sizing and construction phase of photovoltaic systems.

Course Syllabus: Components of PV systems: models and sizing. Configurations and single-pole diagrams for different types of PV systems. Location selection, module deployment and mounting structures. Components selection. Spatial organization of PV systems and preparatory activities for construction. Steps in construction of PV systems. Recommendations for sizing and positioning of electrical wiring, protection devices and grounding. Performance analysis of PV systems. Control and monitoring systems. Technical conditions for connection to distribution grid. Putting into operation, testing and failure detection. Creation of operation and maintenance documentation.
