Course Goals (acquired competencies): Gain knowledge related to the fundamental properties of nanomaterials and nanostructures used in nanodimensional systems and their optimization for applications in energеtics, electronics, robotics and automation.

Course Syllabus: Types and classification of nanomaterials. Tehnnologies for controlled production of nanostructures. Zero dimensional nanostructures: nanoparticles. One dimensional nanostructures: nanowires and nanotubes. Two dimensional nanostructures: thin films. Functional nanomaterials: carbon nanotubes and fullerenes, micro and mesoporous materials, organic/inorganic hybrid materials and nanocomposites. Organic and polymeric nanomaterials. Characterization and properties of nanomaterials. Application of the nanomaterials for environmental protection. Nanomaterial impact of the environment. Application of the nanomaterials and nanostructures in nanometer systems used in energy, electronics, robotics and automation.
