Computer Aided Design of Integrated Circuits
Course: Computer Aided Design of Integrated Circuits
Code: 3ФЕИТ12003
ECTS points: 6 ECTS
Number of classes per week: 3+0+0+3
Lecturer: Prof. Dr. Slavka Canova
Course Goals (acquired competencies): The course offers a thorough understanding in the design of CMOS integrated circuits using CAD tools. With this course, the student will be able to model and simulate digital system design using VHDL and to design electronic cirsuits and systems on a transistor level (using Cadence).
Course Syllabus: Introduction to microelectronics - integrated circuits and VLSO design. Hardware modeling using hardware description languages (VHDL). Algorithms and structures. Model verification. Physical system design (transistor layout) using CADENCE. Examples in CMOS technologies.
