Modern Control Systems

Course: Modern Control Systems

Code: 3ФЕИТ01017

ECTS points: 6 ECTS

Number of classes per week: 3+0+0+3

Lecturer: Asst. Prof. Dr. Vesna Ojleska Latkoska

Course Goals (acquired competencies): With successful completion of the course, the student learn the fundamentals of control theory, with particular emphasis on the methods and techniques used in modern control theory. With this, the student will be able to recognize and solve problems from the real world using modern control techniques.

Course Syllabus: Introduction to Control Systems. System Modeling. Classical Methods for Control System Analysis: Time-Domain Analysis; State-Space Analysis; Frequency Domain Analysis. Stability. Classical Control Design Methods. Modern Control Systems: State-Space Design Methods; Observers; Optimal and Robust Control (Linear Optimal Regulator and Tracking Problem; The Kalman Filter; Robust Control; H2 and Hinf Optimal Control); System Identification; Adaptive Control; Intelligent Control Systems (Fuzzy Logic, Neural Networks and Genetic Algorithms for Solving Control Problems).
