Course Goals (acquired competencies): The course should provide and familiarize the students with special and advanced techniques for calculation and analysis of the conditions in electrical networks. Students should be able to develop their own software applications and use of ready-made software tools for calculation and analysis in electric power system.
Course Syllabus: SPECIAL METHODS FOR ANALYSIS OF WEAKLY CONNECTED NETWORKS Current summation method Power summation method Admittance summation method OPTIMAL POWER FLOW General considerations in numerical methods for optimal power flow Distribution of loads Optimal distribution of active and reactive power COMPUTER SIMULATION WITH PSS/E Single and multiple outages. Distribution of loads and optimal distribution of active and reactive power.
