Course Goals (acquired competencies): With the successful completion of the course, the candidate will acquire the competence to design and implementation of energy efficient systems in households and businesses.
Subject of the course content:
Brief overview of the energy efficiency standardisation.
Technologies for improving energy efficiency in households-application of devices with improved energy efficiency, instalation of devices for optimal control of the household devices, energy efficient lighting, energy efficient heating and cooling, implementation of renewable energy sources for household energy efficiency improvement ( so called smart homes).
Technologies for energy efficiency improvement in industry-energy efficiency improvement of power transformers, energy efficiency improvement of electric motors (implementation of methodologies for optimal design, implementation of novel materials and implementation of technologies for energy efficiency improvement) Energy efficiency improvement using power converters and novel methodologies for control of electric motors, novel methodologies and technologies for reactive power compensation and filtering of harmonics, implementation of novel systems for industrial heating, cooling and ventilation.
