Subject of the course content: CMOS process device modeling overview. Passive components modeling and parasitics. Large and small signal modeling of MOS-transistors. CMOS amplifiers basics. Amplification and pass-band. Cascading. Differential amplifiers. Device compatibility. Current and voltage sources. Basic current mirrors, high performance current mirrors. Voltage references. CMOS operational amplifiers, basic requirements, simple 2-stage architecture. Amplifier stability and frequency compensation. Output buffers. Single stage amplifiers. Complete differential amplifiers. MOS circuits noise sources, thermal noise, 1/f noise, amplifier noise, stage-by-stage analysis, chopper stabilization of 1/f noise, kT/C noise. Basic CMOS logic structures, data conversion circuits - main requirements, D/A converter voltage and current scaling. Comparators. Integrating A/D converters, charge redistribution A/D, flash A/D, delta-sigma A/D. Switched-capacitor filters, continuous-time filters, PLL.
