Subject of the course content: Examples of real-time applications, examples of DSP families, general selection rules. Detailed architecture of selected DSP's (TMS320C55xx, MC56800E, C2000), Instruction sets, Development environments, (Code Composer Studio, Code Warrior, Processor Expert). Fixed point arithmetic DSP specifics. Peripherals overview. Libraries and optimization for real-time processing (DSP/BIOS RT Kernel, uC/OS-II or other). Design project according to specific interests: audio processing, image processing, video processing, or calculation-reach control tasks (eg. navigation systems, renewable energy systems, industrial processes...).
