Course goals/Competences: Understanding communications as an ecosystem of deep interconnection among technology, economy and users. Analysis of the interactions in the communications ecosystem. Development of communications services and devices that can fulfill users needs and enable development of successful business models.

Curriculum: Description of communications as an ecosystem. Analysis of the interactions among technology, economy and users. Introduction to the appropriate terminology. Users' needs and user behaviour and their correlation with communications services. Impact of the network quality on the usage of services and applications. Basic economic concepts behind communications services providers. Billing organization of network services and network infrastructure. Social systems and their role. Application and network models. Combination of different domains by analytical modeling of an ecosystem.
