Course goals/Competences: The goal of this course is to introduce the students to the principles of control in power plants. After successful concluding of the course the students will be able to read and understand the industrial schematics for power plants, but also to construct specific control algorithms for the power plants.

Total available number of classes: 180

Curriculum: Introduction to the problems in power plant control. Modeling the slow control loop for the power plant control system (steam turbines, steam plant, gas turbines and so on). Modeling and simulation of power plant systems. Decentralized model of networked power plants. Frequency and active power regulation in power plants.
