Course goals/Competences: The goal of this course is to introduce the students with the basic operation principles of the most common industrial plants and processes. After taking this course the students will be able to read industrial electrical schemes. To design algorithms for control of industrial plants and to design a control system of different industrial processes.

Curriculum: General aspects of process automation; System engineering approach towards the process automation; Information base of process models; Automation od typical industrial processes. Principles of technical automatisation of typical industrial plants. Mixing of fluids. Transport of fluids. Filtering and cleaning of gasses. Heating and cooling in industrial plants. Industrial burners. Distillation in oil production. Drying plants. Automatization of industrial furnaces.
