Prerequisite for enrollment of the subject:
Course goals/Competences: Understanding the principles of electrical and electronic automotive systems; Analysis, simulation and design of electronic systems and their interaction with mechanical systems. Testing and verification of automotive electronics.

Curriculum: Introduction, basic principles. Automotive sensors: pressure, position, flow, temperature, humidity, speed, acceleration, oxygen, torque, light and distance. Modelling, sensor selection, interfacing, signal processing and logging for special applications. Control systems: dynamic behavior modeling, temporal and frequency response, automatic control methods, digital control systems, automotive controller design. Power electronic devices for automotive electric motors and actuators. Communication protocols: analysis and implementation, data transmition, signal conditioning. Diagnostic protocols. Electric and hybrid vehicles.
