Prerequisite for enrollment of the subject: Passed: Electrical Basics 1 and Fundamentals of Electrical Engineering 2

Course goals/Competences: Grasping the fundamental electronic knowledge and overview of the field. Understanding technical documents related to electronic devices and components. Establishing a starting point for further electronic knowledge upgrade. Gaining competence in communication with electronic specialists regarding technical specifications of electronic equipment.

Total available number of classes: 180

Curriculum: Historical development of electronics. Semiconductor electronics (basic electronic devices, power electronic devices, integrated circuits). Power supplies. Linear electronic circuits: amplifiers, frequency response, direct coupling, feedback, operational amplifier. Harmonic oscillators. Analog signal processing circuits, pulse shaping and generation (Schmitt trigger, multivibrators). Digital signals (discretization, quantization, coding), Digital electronics: basic logic functions and circuits, Bull algebra, logic networks (combinational, sequential), finite state machines. A/D and D/A converters. Digital systems: memory circuits (RAM, ROM, EPROM, Flash...) registers, central processing unit. Microcomputer (microcontroller), assembly programming.
