Course goals/Competences: Students will gain basic knowledge for control and management of power systems.

Curriculum: Aims and responsibility of distribution system control center and national control center. Standards and technologies that are relevant for control centers. SCADA. Operational user interface. Acquisition and processing of data. Archiving and reporting. Dispatch training simulator. Analysis of states of power system: impact of power injections on voltage, automatic voltage control, parallel tap transformer, power system restoration after black-out, liberalized power market, increase of profit of Transmission Company due to transmission tariffs, etc.
