Course goals/Competences: The purpose of this discipline is to familiarize students with the types of industrial networks used nowadays, classification of industrial networks, their settings and configurations . After the successful completion of this course, the students will be able to:

- identify the types of industrial networks

- configure the types of industrial networks

- CanBus

- RS- 485

- ProfiBus

- FieldBus

- ZigBee

Curriculum:  Acquisition and conditioning of data. Industrial environment - a review of the restrictions. Industrial communication. Standards for industrial networks. Standard networking and communication devices for work in industrial conditions. Wired and wireless sensors networks. Communication in automation systems. Designing a system for communication with emphasis on managerial techniques. Designing algorithms for real-time control using RS-232, RS-482, Ethernet, CanBUS, ProfiBUS, GSM, GPRS and ZigBee networks.
