Course goals/Competences: Introduction to the necessary basics for mobile robots design; Unification of knowledge in physics, dynamics, electronics, signal processing, control theory, trajectory planning, real-time programming, and other hardware and software aspects of mobile robot design.

Curriculum: Introduction to mobile robotics, the basic terms, definitions, developments and applications. Dynamic model of mobile robots. Hardware elements – sensors, actuators, control elements, mechatronic systems. Processing and interpretation of sensor information. Fusion of information from different sensors. Navigation and control components. Algorithms and methods for mobile robot control and navigation. Machine learning in mobile robots. Human/robot interacting techniques. Localization and coordination algorithms for multi-robot environments.
