Course goals/Competences: Learning the modern methods for guiding and control of objects in space. Ability to research and work on projects in this area.

Curriculum: Introduction. Earth model and coordinate systems. WGS84 standard. Kinematic and dynamic motion equations of objects in 3D. Dynamical models of moving objects: airplane, rocket, helicopter, quad rotor. Stability and controllability of moving objects. Structure and elements in control systems, autopilots, sensors and actuators. Object orientation and position control systems. Using classical and modern design methods for designing motion control systems. Navigation systems for moving objects: Inertial navigation systems, Satellite navigation systems (GPS), Computational and visual navigation, Integration of satellite with other navigation systems. Guidance systems: Guidance methods, Remote guidance systems, Self-guidance systems, Autonomous guidance systems, Methods for guidance low design, Guidance lows based on inverse motion models. Guidance of objects in formation. Simulation of guidance and control systems: Design of complete 6DOF simulation models and simulation using MATLAB and Simulink. Hardware in the loop simulation and testing of guidance and control systems.
