Course goals/Competences: The students will learn about the principles of object-oriented modeling of telecommunication systems and protocols, their verification and performance evaluation.

Curriculum: Standards and standardization bodies in the area of telecommunications. SDL-ITU standard Z.100. Formal description of standards. Object-oriented modeling methods. Modeling of telecommunication systems and networks. Design and implementation of protocols. Interactive simulation and testing. Model verification. Examples of SDL models of telecommunication standards.
