Course goals/Competences: Students will gain basic knowledge for planning of power systems in liberalized power market environment.

Curriculum: Cost-effective modeling of power systems. Optimization methods. Software tools for analysis of power systems. Planning and development of distribution systems with distributed generation. Computation of configuration of MV distribution networks with optimal power losses. Planning and development of transmission systems. Planning of power systems with regards of risks assessment. Planning and development of interconnected power systems. Congestion management. Reliability in liberalized power market environment.
