Course goals/Competences: Recognizing threats from a security perspective. Learning appropriate mechanisms and procedures applied to computer systems in order to increase the level of security and protection in relation to unauthorized access.

Curriculum: Introduction to procedures and mechanisms used for protection in computer systems. Safety and security mechanisms in operating systems. Detection and defense against viruses and Trojan horses. Protection mechanisms used in firewalls, security in intelligent networks.
