Course goals/Competences: Students will gain basic knowledge of smart grids, challenges and key technologies.

Curriculum: Basic concepts of current power system. Developments towards intelligent use of electricity. Integration of distributed generation and energy storage. Development of micro grids. Consumption control and consumer’s response. Dynamic pricing. Role of electrical vehicles in power market environment. ICT support of smart grids. Security of supply. DCS, EMS/SCADA, DA. Ancillary services. Producers and consumers of electricity, intelligent buildings and devices, DR, AMI.
