Course Goals (acquired competencies): Gaining capability for development and support of computer-based measurement systems and transfer of measurement data. Competence for design and realization of computerized measurement systems.

Course Syllabus: Introduction to computerized measurement systems. Configurations and elements of computerized measurement systems. Measurement signal conditioning. A/D and D/A conversion. Computers in measurements. Hardware elements of computerized measurements systems. Standard interfaces, serial and parallel. Software for measurement systems. Data acquisition. Architecture of computer units for DAQ. Virtual measurement systems. Introduction to graphical programming and acquaintance to LabVIEW. User interface, records and measurements results display. Examples of measurement-information systems and PC based measurements. Telemetry. Sensor networks.
