Course Goals (acquired competencies): Introducing the concepts of the Internet of Things (IoT), the underlying technologies, the architecture and the standards. Platforms for the IoT. Upon completion of the course the students will be able to work with IoT systems.

Standards. Wireless sensor networks. Connectivity and networks. Wireless technologies for the Internet of Things. Protocols. RFID and NFC technology in IoT. Data storage and analysis. Analysis and applications. Signal processing in real time. Local analysis. Localization algorithms. Indoor localization. Real-time processing systems. Characteristics. Deployment. Operating systems for real-time operation. RTOS and application for the IoT. Embedded systems and platforms. Intel Platforms for IoT. Yocto project and Yocto core. IoT applicaitons: smart health, smart homes, smart cities, etc. Development of embedded applications for work in the cloud. Security in the Internet of Things.
