Course Goals (acquired competencies): The course is designed to provide knowledge for development and usage of measurement devices and information systems implemented in the filed of telecommunications.

Course Syllabus: Measurement role in control quality of the telecommunication devices. Programmable measurement devices. Microprocessor and applications in measurement technique. Interfaces. Data acquisition systems. Types of data acquisition systems. Measurement of frequency and period. Measurement of high frequency power. Errors of high frequency power measurement. Optical fiber measurement.  Measurement of nonlinear   distortion. Impedance analyzers. Signal generators. Signal analyzers. Spectral analyzers and spectral measurements. Types of spectral analyzers. Modulation measurement. Measurement of harmonic distortion. Noise. Measurement of noise.
