Course Goals (acquired competencies): This course will introduce the students to the topic of power plant control and automation. With the completion of the studies, the students will be able to read, interpret, and understand power circuit diagrams, and to design control algorithms for power plant control.

Course Syllabus: Basic introduction to power plant control and automation. Modelling of the power plant control system elements for processes with slower dynamics. Modelling of power production units and plants. Modelling and simulation of energy systems. Decentralized models of complex power plants. Frequency and active power control in power plant control systems.
