Course Goals (acquired competencies): Understanding of the basic concepts and methods from probability theory. The student will be able to solve real problems from electrical engineering by applying probabilistic methods.

Course Syllabus: Combinatorics, probability axioms, geometric and conditional probability. Independent events, total probability and Bayes' formula. Random variable, numerous characteristics of a random variable, some more important distributions. Transformation of a random variable. Random vector, numerous characteristics of random vector. Limit theorems.
