History of the Faculty
It all started in 1959 when the Department Electro-mechanical Engineering was formed as part of the Technical Faculty with only 50 students. From this Department after several years two different Departments were established – Department of Electrical Engineering and Department of Mechanical Engineering. In 1965 the two Departments founded the Faculty of Electrical and Mechanical Engineering and in 1973 became two different Faculties – Faculty of Mechanical and Faculty of Electrical Engineering. In 2006, following the new trends in the development of new technologies and staying in touch with the developments in the information and communication technologies, the Faculty changed its name into Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Information Technologies.
