Exhibition “Audio Engineering – profession, passion and art” at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Information Technologies

The exhibition “Audio Engineering – profession, passion and art” took place on the 17th May 2013, at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Information Technologies, University of Ss. Cyril and Methodius-Skopje, Macedonia. The goal of the exhibit was the popularization of audio engineering in the Republic of Macedonia.

 

Support for the event came directly from the President of the Republic of Macedonia, Gjorge Ivanov, PhD, an audiophile and a great admirer of music and audio engineering. The exhibition showed 27 exhibits, 6 of which came directly from the President’s personal collection. The majority of the exhibits were provided by the staff of the Faculty. The exhibit also featured guests from the audio engineering industry as well as audio enthusiasts.

The exhibition featured exhibits of varying audio and artistic value, and rarity, seeking to showcase the development of audio engineering in the past and today.

The Dean of the Faculty Mile Stankovski, PhD, made the initial address and opened the exhibition. He emphasized the role of FEEIT as one of the pillars of the technical sciences in the Republic of Macedonia. Audio engineering, as a part of this scientific field, is being developed at FEEIT since its founding and the Department of Electronics since the 1960’s has covered the foundations of almost all audio devices, from the era of vacuum tubes, through the era of the bipolar transistors and the digital audio systems of today.

The President of the Republic of Macedonia Gjorge Ivanov, PhD, was an honorary guest at the opening of the exhibition. He then visited and greeted the participants of the First Student Conference “Energy Efficiency and Sustainable Development”. To finalize the event the President gave a distinctive lecture with which he addressed the students and staff at FEEIT.
