The 2010 Youngest Scientist Award” for a FEEIT former graduate

 

Nikola Zlatanov, graduated electrical engineer from the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Information Technologies, is the recipient of the “The 2010 Youngest Scientist Award”. This prestigious prize is awarded by the President of the Republic of Macedonia for outstanding scientific achievements of young scientists of age of up to 30 years.

Nikola Zlatanov was born in 1983 in Strumica. He obtained his Bachelor degree (2007) and his Master degree (2010) in wireless communications from the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Information Technologies, both under supervision of prof. dr. Zoran Hadzi-Velkov. Since September 2010, he is a doctoral candidate and research assistant at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, Canada. He is recipient of the most prestigious fellowship for doctoral candidates awarded by this University. His research interests are in wireless communications, with special emphasis in cooperative networks and physical-layer information security.

He has published several papers in most prestigious international journals in electrical engineering, information-communication technologies and physics, such as, the IEEE Transactions, thus rightfully earning the epithet of “The 2010 Youngest Scientist” of the Republic of Macedonia.

The award ceremony took place at 11 March 2011 at the Mosaic Hall of the Cabinet of the President of the Republic of Macedonia. Here are several photos of this occasion.
