ITU Centre of Excellence elearning course: “NGN, Cloud Computing and Ultra Broadband”

International Telecommunication Union (ITU) Centre of Excellence (CoE) node at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Information Technologies, Ss. Cyril and Methodius University in Skopje, will conduct eLearning course on “NGN, Cloud Computing and Ultra Broadband” from 30 May to 26 June 2017, within the framework of ITU Centre of Excellence Network for Europe, and it will be delivered through the ITU Academy: https://academy.itu.int

This course will focus on NGN, Cloud Computing and Ultra Broadband from technology, regulation and business aspects. It will cover ITU's Next Generation Networks (NGN), including service architectures (IP Multimedia Subsystem - IMS), control and signalling in NGN (SIP, Diameter), IPv6-based NGN, management and performance measurements in NGN, future evolution of NGN, as well as NGN business and regulatory aspects. Further, the course will incorporate cloud computing framework from the ITU, including systems and architectures and services models (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS, NaaS, CaaS), cloud security and privacy, Over-The-Top (OTT) and telco cloud implementations as well as business and regulation aspects of cloud computing. Also, it will cover ultra broadband Internet access, including xDSL access networks (ADSL2+, VDSL2), cable access networks, Fiber-To-The-Home (FTTH), next generation passive optical access (NG-PON, NG-PON2, 10G-EPON) and active optical access networks, Metro Ethernet, as well as business and regulation aspects of ultra broadband. Finally, the course will incorporate broadband services, network neutrality and QoS, including NGN services over broadband (VoIP, IPTV), OTT data services, Internet of Things (IoT), QoS for broadband services, broadband Internet KPIs and measurements, ITU's guidelines for QoS regulation, as well as business and regulatory challenges for broadband Internet services.
This course is targeted at managers, engineers and employees from regulators, government organisations, telecommunication companies and academia, who are interested in understanding, implementation and regulation of NGN, Cloud Computing and Ultra Broadband, including technologies, standardization, regulation and content. Other institutions and individuals that are dedicated in building their capacity related to NGN, Cloud Computing and Ultra Broadband are also welcome to participate.
